5Rhythms® in Cumbria - evenings and workshops through the year

Five Rhythms of the Wave

The practice of the 5Rhythms is said by Gabrielle Roth to put the body in motion in order to still the mind. The five rhythms (in order) are Flowing Staccato Chaos Lyrical Stillness®. The 5Rhythms, when danced in sequence, are known as a "Wave." A typical Wave takes about an hour to dance.

Here is Gabriele Roth in a short extract, introducing the 5 Rythms of the Wave.

The full 35 minute video is available to download here.

On her first home workout video, Gabrielle Roth introduces us to The Wave, a moving meditation based on five universal rhythms that flow through our lives. Gabrielle teaches that each of these rhythms has the capacity to teach, catalyze, and even heal. As we join Gabrielle and her dancers (all nonprofessionals), we learn to improvise our own unique dance forms using every part of the body, from the inside out.
